Random Pips

What did I mean when I named this site Random Pips?

I guess it all stems from my metaphor of Life being one enormous dice game. Every decision you make, every action you decide to take…involves some element of gambling because it is extremely difficult to foresee all the variables that would affect that particular toss of the dice. The pips that eventually show up would represent the outcome of your decision – a glimpse of the next path in Life, if you will.

True – there are times when you get the Dancing Dragon staring ominously right into your very soul. But just remember that its purpose may be to make you pause and back away…until you reach the Strung Flowers that will lead you to a previously hidden, but infinitely better path.

I like to write about whatever random thought – good or bad – happens to be on my mind at the moment and hopefully, this would allow me to catch a glimpse of the meaning of Life once in awhile.

There is an alternate angle you can take on the meaning of Random Pips. A pip can also describe a seed of a fruit. Similarly, my random-to-the-point-of-ridiculous thoughts are the seeds of my mind that have sprouted into this haphazard blog.

So, take your pick at which meaning you prefer. If you’re stuck, try this: toss a pair of dice between the two – highest number gets chosen.
