Bullet Ain’t Got Nothin’ On Rupee
A bullet flew straight toward a man’s heart in Mumbai, India…and was stopped in mid-air, mere millimetres before it reached its target. Just who is the hero with this amazing bullet-catching power? It is none other than a five-rupee coin.
Krishna Shetty fell victim to a drive-by shooting as he was chatting with his friend outside of a video parlour. Three unidentified motorcylists roared past them and let loose a volley of three bullets – one struck Shetty’s friend, Nicholas Gomes, while another pierced Shetty’s stomach. The final and would-have-been-fatal bullet was headed for Shetty’s heart.
“The bullet would have definitely killed him, but thanks to the coin it fell harmlessly to the ground,” stated Arvind Mahabadi, Assistant Commissioner of Police (TimesOfIndia.indiatimes.com). He also confirmed that this shooting may have been “a case of mistaken identity”. Both victims are now in stable condition at the Guru Nanak Hospital.
Shetty shared a relief-laced laugh with his friends and family as he recovered. They had always teased him about his odd habit of carrying his wallet in his breast pocket, but after this incident, they are probably very glad he had continued to stick with the habit.

Monetary value? 5 rupees. Value after saving a life? Priceless.

Wow…a five-rupee coin – what are the odds of that??
See, this goes to show that sometimes, embracing your eccentricities may be one of the best things you do in Life. My co-workers often dig at how much of a jingling packrat I am – and I admit it’s true. I amaze even myself sometimes at the amount of random stuff I find in my pockets. But I’m not gonna worry about it – especially after seeing this article.
I’ll jingle all I want, dammit – it could be my Life we’re talkin’ about here!
